BOOMERANG – ALWAYS COMES BACK No. 15: April – May 2010
SOME OF LIFE’S LITTLE MYSTERIES “I am” is the shortest sentence. Could “I do” be the longest sentence in the English language? Why do croutons come in airtight packages? It’s just stale bread anyway. Why is a person who invests your money a “broker”? Do Lipton tea employees take coffee breaks? Everyone has a photographic memory – some people just run out of film. Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery?

Thank you, Selectors, on a job well done under trying conditions. We hope the remainder of the year is less stressful for you. Thanks are extended to Umpires who assisted during the Pennant Season and to the members who “filled in” for Social and Selection while committees were playing Pennants. JUST A REMINDER Directors at the head must always move bowls by hand when measuring, not feet. Use of a bowls duster is advisable to save confusion. Only indicate results of end when both directors have agreed.
WHERE HAS ALL THE INNOCENCE GONE? While I sat in the reception area of my doctor’s office, a woman rolled an elderly man in a wheelchair into the room. As she went to the receptionist’s desk, the man sat there, alone and silent. Just as I was thinking I should make small talk with him, a little boy slipped off his mother’s lap and walked over to the wheelchair. Placing his hand on the man’s, he said,”I know how you feel. My mom makes me ride in the stroller too.”
